Parent Access to Information
Parents have the legal right to inspect and review their child's school records. These rights extend to "all material that is incorporated into each student's cumulative records folder...specifically including but not necessarily limited to identifying data, academic work completed, level achievement..." etc. If you wish to review your child's records, please call the school and make an appointment.

Student Information
Please inform the school of any telephone number changes, telephone installations, address changes, or changes in caregivers. It is also extremely important that the school be notified of any changes in doctors and/or persons to contact in case of an emergency.

Lost and Found
Lost articles are stored in an open container in the cafeteria. Parents are welcome to inspect the lost and found any time the school is open. Many boxes of unclaimed clothing and other items are donated to charitable organizations each year. Please sew nametags or mark clothing to prevent unneeded loss of personal articles.

Use of Telephones
We attempt to limit student use of office telephones to emergency situations. We would appreciate parents reinforcing this as our phones are usually busy and lines are limited. It is helpful to make rainy day arrangements in advance, as it is unreasonable for all students to call home when it rains. Per California State Policy, students may only carry cell phones at school if the administration is aware of and has approved it. A cell phone permission form is available in the office if you feel your child must carry a cell phone.
School Parties
School parties will be held three times during the school year. On party days, we are on our adjusted schedule, and all our students are dismissed at 1:45. The teacher will notify parents of the plans for each party. Parents should not send flowers or balloons to a child at school to celebrate a birthday or other occasion. If parents wish to provide treats to celebrate a birthday, arrangements must be made with the teacher before the event.

Messages for Students
Classroom instruction will not be interrupted to deliver a message to a student unless it is an emergency. In most cases, a written message will be placed in the teacher's box and the teacher will relay the message after the next break or recess. Likewise, teachers may not be interrupted during classroom instruction time.
Money at School
Children should not be permitted to carry any monies to school other than what is needed for lunch, book club purchases, etc. If money is carried, please put it in an envelope with the child's name and teacher's name on the outside.
