HomeworkDistrict policy requires that homework be assigned on a regular basis to children grades 1-8. Parents can expect children to receive approximately 10 minutes of homework for every year in school. Consideration must be given, however, to individual needs and differences in students.
Your child's teacher will provide information about the kinds of assignments to expect. Please inform the teacher whenever your youngster is having unusual problems with homework. Close cooperation between parent and teacher will ensure greater instructional gain from outside assignments. Parents can assist their children by providing necessary time to complete homework, a suitable place for work, and appropriate support. |
Binder RemindersStudents in grades 4-6 will be provided with a Binder Reminder, which is to be kept by the students. This is provided so that each student can record all homework assignments. Space is also provided in the book for parent and teacher comments. Parents should inspect the binder reminder regularly to remain informed about the progress of the student's work, as well as teacher expectations. As with any other textbook, the student will be expected to pay a replacement fee should he/she lose the Binder Reminder.

Work EnvelopesAll students will receive a work envelope each Monday. Parents along with their children should review the contents. Inside the envelope will be completed and graded student work, the Principal's Newsletter, and other school district information for parents.
